Evidence before a coaching conclusion

By FleetVerity · Published · 1 min read

A dashboard can point to something worth investigating. It cannot, on its own, explain everything that happened on a delivery.

Separate the layers

Start with the measured event, then its source and reporting period, then the rule that was applied. A recommendation is a separate step. Do not present an interpretation as a directly observed fact.

Check the supporting records

Look for the relevant delivery details, any available photos or maps, timestamps and source revisions. Note whether the evidence covers every counted event or only some of them.

Respect the limits of the evidence

A coordinate difference alone does not establish that a package went to a neighbouring building. A missing photo is not proof of any particular action. Do not invent a cause to fill a gap in the evidence.

Invite context

Ask the driver what happened and whether the procedure was clear. Use approved guidance for practical support. Record disagreement and unresolved facts accurately.

Choose the appropriate next step

The outcome may be coaching, recognition, a data correction, a dispute review or more investigation. Keep the reason visible, and leave consequential decisions with authorized people.

General management guidance. Adapt it to your company's approved procedures, and keep decisions that need judgment with authorized people.
